WMS students showed off their neon in the Winter Blast photo booth.

The Westonka Middle School Winter Blast was postponed this year due to, well, winter! But the rescheduled event on Jan. 30 still gave students the opportunity to celebrate the end of the semester. The annual party, which featured the theme of “Neon,” was open to all students and included a DJ, open gym, dodgeball, volleyball, karaoke, movies and snacks. Students also enjoyed bingo, crafts, and a creative photo booth.

“There was something for everyone,” said Principal Christy Zachow, who thanked dozens of parent and teacher volunteers who helped make the fun event possible.

Student council members, along with some amazing staff and parent volunteers, stayed after school on Friday to set up and decorate. The volunteer chaperones made sure each room was supervised, food was provided, the gyms were safe, pictures were taken and that things ran smoothly.

“We had a glowing good time!” said Zachow.
