The All-District Band Concert on March 8 was well received by parents and members of the community. A successful fundraiser auction preceded the concert, which involved over 280 students in grades 5 through 12 under the direction of band directors Christopher Moore and Gretchen Chilson.

The program included fifth grade band, sixth grade band, seventh grade band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble. The audience got to hear the music progress from the simplicity of first-year band students' notes to a challenging and inspiring Wind Ensemble performance.

The six bands performed back-to-back for the concert, which made for an exciting, fast-moving concert. Chilson noted that the younger students in particular enjoyed listening to the high school bands perform. The event culminated with a performance of “Magma” by all the bands combined.

"The All District Band Concert was a wonderful opportunity for students, family, and community alike to witness the incredible growth our musicians make from fifth grade all the way to senior year in high school," said Moore.

The directors extended a huge thank you to the band boosters and to the business donors who made the silent auction possible. The bands appreciate the support from the local community.

"What a great way to celebrate Music in Our Schools Month!” said Chilson. “The highlight of the concert was hearing 280 students all performing together for our finale!"
